Edgewood Center Pediatrics P.C.

CoronaVirus (COVID-19) Update

Due to adjusted schedule and patient volume our office will be closing at 5pm until further notice – we apologize for any inconvenience as we all navigate through this time. We continue to have a provider on-call for urgent matters any time the office is closed.

Edgewood Center Pediatrics is dedicated to keeping our patients and staff as safe and healthy as possible. In addition to our normal cleaning schedule we are doing additional cleanings of each room in between each patient and throughout the office.

We are asking to please call ahead for any appointments and please DO NOT walk into the office to make an appointment.

We are following the current CDC and Oakland County Health Department’s guidelines. Below are links to the most current and up-to-date information.

If your child has recently traveled to a known COVID-19 region or have had direct contact with a known case and do not have symptoms, please remain home and call us so we can follow the current established guidelines. We are currently trying to avoid sick and well patients in the office at the same time. The following guild-lines will be put in place until further notice. (we anticipate through at least mid April)

Well visits – babies under 1 year of age – will be scheduled at 9am only.

All other age well visits and non-contagious appointments – will be scheduled between 1:30pm and 3:30pm. Any well visit that is scheduled we do ask that you call the office once you arrive, we will direct you to a different entrance to minimize your exposure while in the office.

All other appointments times will be reserved for sick appointments.

We have started calling the appointments affected by this schedule change – if you currently have an appointment during these times that we will reach out to you if needed.

We are scheduling appointments currently via virtual visits through Doxy.me. If you currently have an appointment that qualifies for this type of visit we will call you to arrange a virtual visit. There is no need to download any program or app, it is done directly from a cell phone camera or desktop computer with a camera.

Edgewood Center Pediatrics offers sports physicals to existing patients that have had a well visit in our office within the last year and require an exam for sports on or after April 15th of the previous school year.

If your child’s well visit was before April 15th, 2019 and the form(s) require exam to be on or after April 15th of the previous school year you may require a sports physical appointment.

Sports physicals are NOT a complete well exam and do not replace a yearly well visit!

If additional testing/procedures are required, an office visit may be billed to your insurance and all  co-pays will be due at time of service.  This will be in addition to the cost of the sports physical!
