Preventative Care Visits

Our pediatricians are strong supporters of the guidelines established by the American Academy of Pediatrics, which include the recommendation of vaccines. At your child’s exam, the physician will be happy to answer any questions or concerns that you may have regarding vaccines.

To help with scheduling the proper time for your child’s well exams, please notify the front desk when booking your appointment if you feel you may need extended time with the doctor. If you are scheduling a physical for sports, please be aware these appointments are scheduled as a well exam. Please refer to the schedule of well exams to help plan your child’s preventative care needs.

Walk-In

We understand kids do not always wait for regular office hours to get sick. That’s why we accept walk-in patients from 7:30 am to 8:45 am, Monday through Friday.

To have a walk-in appointment, you or your child must be a current patient at our office. Walk-ins are for sick patients only and are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please don’t hesitate to contact our office if you have any questions.

In-House Pharmacy

Our in-house pharmacy gives our patients the option to quickly start treatment after receiving excellent care at our clinic. We offer over the counter medications, antibiotics (drops, creams, liquid and pills), albuterol inhalers and other prescription medications. This, in addition to our extended hours, saves parents time and may allow them to skip inconvenient trips to the pharmacy.

Acute Care

When your child isn't feeling well, it's often a time of concern for both parents and caregivers. Rest assured, when you visit Edgewood Center Pediatrics, we will address any sudden or worsening symptoms, such as high fever, severe cough, ear pain, or stomach issues. During these appointments, we will thoroughly assess symptoms, complete physical exams, and order diagnostic tests if necessary to determine the underlying cause of your child's discomfort.

We will make sure to find the treatment that is best for your child, whether that is prescribing medications to alleviate symptoms, recommendations for at-home care, or offering guidance on when to seek further medical attention if symptoms persist or worsen.

ADHD

ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is a common condition, affecting one in ten children aged 3-17. At Edgewood Center Pediatrics our providers have years of experience diagnosing and treating ADHD. We work with parents to establish the correct diagnosis and provide thorough counseling regarding all treatment options.

If your child tends to daydream often, is forgetful or loses things, or if you just want to learn more about ADHD our providers would be happy to discuss ADHD and determine if an ADHD evaluation is appropriate for your child.

Mental Health

Depression and Anxiety affect approximately 8.5 million children in the U.S. with prevalence increasing over time.
